Check-in Time from 4:00pm

Your room is available from 4:00 pm - to allow for thorough cleaning.

Please let us know your approximate time of arrival (especially as after 6 pm we might assume a ‘no show’ and re-let the
room if not advised in advance).

You are welcome to arrive late evening, even very late if driving here straight after finishing work when this would allow you
a full first day in this area:  however, this must be discussed when booking.

Check-out is by 10:30am.

Car Parking:  private off-road parking at our guest house;  in Wigtown all car parking is free with no restrictions.

Extra Charges - breakages, damages, soiling (unfortunately necessary due to incidents in Sept/Oct 08)

We ask that our home & your accommodation is treated with due care and respect - items are very high quality.

Breakages & Damages must be paid for (as New).

Free of charge:  Beds are made up with freshly washed & ironed Egyptian cotton bedlinen for each change of guests; beds have duvets with freshly laundered duvet covers. Free change of bedding during a stay of more than 7 nights. Pillow protectors, duvet protectors, and mattress protectors are washed very frequently.

Additional changes of bedding by request or if we regard this necessary due to soiling - charge of £5 per wash.

Blankets: if these are used instead of the duvets (which have white cotton duvet covers) then regretfully we need to charge the cost for the expensive dry-cleaning which takes 3-4 days (in which the rooms cannot be presented to new guests as intended) and involves a journey of 54 miles on each day to the nearest dry-cleaners: a charge of up to £30 per blanket applies.

We only allow blankets to be used on top of the duvets, but not instead of duvets due to hygiene concerns - unless guests pay the full costs for cleaning (see previous).

Freshly laundered white towels (set of bath towel, hand towel, face cloth for each guest) provided free for new guests and if guests wish so changed daily free of charge; to help the environment towels are otherwise changed after 3-4 days free of charge.

If excessive soiling (e.g. make-up stains, hair-styling products, tea/coffee-stains, washing/drying hands on white towels without use of soap first) does not budge despite use of special de-stainer / Vanish treatment then the item will be deamed damaged and charged for 'as new'.

Peace of mind: since opening in August 2006 we only had 2 breakages, excessive soiling caused by just 9 sets of guests, 1 set of guests insisted on using blankets instead of duvets (claiming the duvet would be too hot without giving it a try first; - one would have thought turning the radiator off instead of up and maybe opening a window at night would have had a better effect; use of blankets instead of duvets which are encased in duvet covers is simply un-hygienic).

We cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to your property during your stay.
